Al-Qadmus

Armed factions entered Al-Qadmus as part of the coordinated offensive that swept through Tartous governorate in those days. Civilians who had not managed to flee were killed. The pattern was consistent with what was documented across dozens of communities during the same period — systematic, targeted, and carried out against a largely unarmed civilian population. Al-Qadmus, with its deep historical roots and its position as a cultural landmark of the region, was not spared. The town that had stood for centuries became, in March 2025, another site of documented atrocity. The names of its martyrs are being collected. Their memory will be preserved.
