Qarfis

Surviving residents of Qarfis documented the entrance of heavy armor and armed vehicles into the village between March 6 and 11, 2025. The attack, which left 25 civilians martyred, was characterized by survivors as an organized attempt at sectarian cleansing. Testimonies recorded by Syrian writers and rights groups describe hours of heavy gunfire and the systematic looting of property by factions associated with the interim government in Damascus.
